Early in 2009 Loxford School became a specialist Science and Technology school. They used this as an opportunity to update their tiring brand image across the board. Serving a deprived area of East London, the school wanted a new image to appeal not only to prospective parents and staff but to the wider community. The initial brief was quite open, with the main aim to create a school brand that felt contemporary, approachable and reflected their specialisms.
Solution & Benefits:
Loxford School chose to work with School Website to create their new brand image. After an initial period of research and visits to the school, our branding team began to create a number of different concepts, some of which started life as simple pencil sketches. The key was to create something that linked with their Science and Technology specialisms in some way, and the school eventually settled on a logo concept that incorporated a particle strand and the 'L' and the 'S' of Loxford School interlinked to resemble the infinity symbol. The school felt this captured their dedication to Science and Technology as well as reflecting the forward thinking nature of the school. Its clean and contemporary style meant when applied across their new website, stationery, signage and more, the result is a visually striking, modern-looking school brand.
